2009 Holiday Parade Celebrations in Naples and Marco Island

 

 

If you were blessed to be in Collier County for the beginning of the Christmas holiday season, you would have had the opportunity to stand on the sidelines and enjoy the festive lighted floats, junior and high school bands, fabulous sports cars, motorcycles, lighted boats on trailers, fire engines, dancers, the Shriners, clowns, the Flintstones and more in both Naples and Marco Island!

During the Naples parade, we learned that there is a Naples Ski Club that travels to snowy destinations for ski trips during the winter months. The Naples Gulf Coast High School band knocked our socks off with their holiday performance, which always seems much closer to a college band based on their size and talent. Their motto is, “We are not good because we are big; we are big because we are good!”

During the Marco Island parade, we watched The Newcomers Club dressed in candy costumes, passing out goodies to the spectators and having a great time with their peers. It’s a wonderful club for ladies to join if they are new to the area and would like to get to know a group of fun-loving gals who love to go to plays, wine tastings, luncheons, travel to other destinations and more! The Marco Island Charter Middle School band performed Winter Wonderland wearing Santa hats, green t-shirts and jeans as they marched the two-mile course!
